The grounds and Meditation Garden are areas that reflect the beauty of nature. These areas require constant upkeep to provide scenic beauty around the church. The committee can always use a hand or a green thumb. If you are interested contact:

GARDEN DEDICATION
Sunday morning (June 26,2005)at the close of our worship celebration we dedicated the lovely new meditation garden just outside the Doll Hall of Honor.
Many of you have watched the progress each week as Betty Baerveldt, ably assisted by Betty Wetherow, have created a breath-taking garden of plants, flowers, fountains, stepping stones, a bird feeder, and fish pond. (And who says 70+ year old women can't put the rest of us to shame!!! ;-) Appreciation is also expressed to CJ Moock, Dusty Dennis, Georgia Moore, and Connie Uleary for all their help!!!
The garden was dedicated on Sunday to honor JoNee Shelton, our Administrator. This was a surprise for her. It honors, not only her years of service at MCC Louisville, but also her 32 years of service in our denomination, the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (which is not quite 37 years old). She has served as the Administrative Assistant in two other MCC churches and as the Pastoral Leader of another (in Texas and Louisiana). Additionally, for ten years she was the Chair of the Commission on the Laity, an international MCC body addressing the needs of lay people around the world.
An endowment fund has been started for maintenance of the garden in JoNee's name. Please see Rev. Dee Dale if you would like to contribute.
